With over 20 years of working in the New York broadcast market, Andy Gladding is no stranger to contemporary radio and television engineering technologies. Starting at MTV during high school doing summer relief shifts in video master control, Gladding had held engineering roles at many different NYC broadcast organizations, including Fox News Radio, Westwood One, WBLS and Emmis Communication’s WQHT, WRKS and WRKP. He is currently the Chief Engineer for Salem New York, overseeing legacy stations WMCA and WNYM, as well as the Chief Engineer for 5 time Marconi winning station WRHU Radio Hofstra University. In his role as Secretary for SBE Chapter 15, Gladding has been instrumental in training the next generation of market Chief Engineers and is coordinating the next NYC area SBE Ennes foundation workshop, scheduled for October 21 at WRHU. In 2023, Gladding was selected as the SBE National Educator of the Year and the Chapter 15 Engineer of the Year. He spends his spare time sailing Jamaica bay with his wife Katie, traveling internationally and streaming live band audio from music festivals.
