The Cinematographers’ Prep process is highly individual and can vary greatly depending on the project. It is one of the most important, and least understood aspects of filmmaking, and can ”make or break” the success of a shoot. You’ll get a valuable, inside look from 3 established DPs about how they prep, how prep relates to their creative process, and lessons and advice to apply to your own pre-production workflow.

We’ll discuss “look books,” various approaches to shot lists and storyboards, scouting, creative prep with the director and the rest of the crew, and products and apps to help your prep workflow.
